Tun Taib and Toh Puan Raghad attend functions in London
Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Kurdi Taib attended two separate functions in London recently.
In the earlier event, Toh Puan Raghad was present to lend a support for the London Craft Week 2023 held at the Malaysia Embassy, London, following Malaysia’s participation under the patronage of Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
The Sarawak delegation was led by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, whose presence strengthened Sarawak’s commitment to promoting Sarawak’s cultural heritage and reputation as a leading craft destination.
The main objective was to promote Sarawak products, where Her Majesty and the Premier introducing the SARAtage website, which was developed and designed by the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) Commercial to ensure borderless access to Sarawak heritage and craft. The presence of Raja Permaisuri Agong, Raghad and Sarawak’s top leaders have given Sarawak’s talented artisans the chance to demonstrate their skills and raise awareness of Sarawak’s distinctive identity.
Among those present at the event were the premier’s wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife, Datin Sri Hajjah Zuraini Abdul Jabbar and State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife, Datin Amar Hajjah Baduyah Hj Bujang.
Meanwhile, in a separate event, Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Raghad attended a special dinner hosted by Yayasan Sarawak for sixty Sarawakian students currently pursuing their education in the United Kingdom. Also present during the dinner were Abang Johari and his wife Juma’ani, Abdul Karim and his wife and Abu Bakar and his wife, and other dignitaries from Sarawak.
