SOP Foods launches bakery products

SOP Foods, a subsidiary of Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB) launched two new products, namely Crescent Margarine and Crescent Shortening at Imperial Hotel Miri recently.

As a home-grown brand, SOP Foods aims to help the local industry by providing a cheaper alternative to ingredients brought in from West Malaysia and overseas with high freight charges. 

“The idea is for SOPB to source the best raw ingredients and use the best quality palm oil fruit bunches for its products,” said SOPB’s Chief Operating Officer, Eric Kiu during the launching. Both products are produced in Bintulu, in their new state-of-the-art specialty fats plant, which eliminates lengthy shipping duration, thus preventing deterioration of product quality. 

Both products are formulated to suit local taste buds and the Malaysian climate, making them the perfect companion for everyday or commercial baking. Crescent Margarine is available in 18kg carton and 1kg pouch, while Crescent Shortening is available in 16kg carton.
