Sarawak enhances presence in Dubai
A delegation from Sarawak led by Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is currently in Dubai to further strengthen Malaysia’s presence at EXPO 2020 Dubai.
In conjunction with their visit to the EXPO, the delegation also had meetings and courtesy visits, including one with Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Issam Kazim at the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) recently. The meeting saw the two parties discussing among others, ways of how Malaysia and Dubai could enhance their existing ties and further develop their tourism sectors collaboratively.
At the juncture, the two parties also discussed several means and initiatives to improve the tourism industry for the two countries, which in turn would also aid in the recovery of the world’s tourism sector.
The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Tourism Malaysia office in Dubai, where they met with its Deputy Direcctor Mirza Ghalib.
In conjunction with the delegation’s visit to Dubai, they are also attending several events held as part of the Malaysia Day celebration today at EXPO 2020 Dubai, including a grand celebration showcasing Malaysia’s cultural diversity at the Al Wasl Plaza.
