ITB Asia returns for 16th edition
The premier annual B2B travel trade show and convention, ITB Asia, returns to Singapore's iconic Marina Bay Sands on its 16th edition from Oct 25 to 27, and BorneoTalk is proudly representing Malaysia as the only official media partner from the country at this prestigious occasion.
Sarawak also once again makes its presence felt at ITB Asia, with Sarawak Tourism Board setting up their culturally inspired exhibition booth, where visitors are able to discover the many facets of Sarawak’s amazing tourism offerings.
ITB Asia was officiated earlier today by Guest of Honour, Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore, Alvin Tan, alongside Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, Melissa Ow, and Senior Vice President of Messe Berlin, David Ruetz who inaugurated the event.
Speaking on the 16th edtition of ITB Asia, Mr Ruetz said, “I am delighted about the noticeable rise in the number of international exhibitors. The ITB global brand family is making a strong case in 2023 as the travel industry resurges. Coming back to the live format in 2022, ITB Asia has established itself as a trendsetter for the entire branch. As the world keeps changing at an unprecedented pace, we expect it to become the cradle for the industry’s cutting-edge trends, the cultivating space of free idea exchange and sustainable cooperations”.
ITB Asia this year brings together over 80 National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) and Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) and is headlined by sponsors namely Busan Tourism Organisation, Japan National Tourism Organisation, Korea Tourism Startup Centre, Penang Global Tourism, Sentosa Development Corporation, Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, and Visit Finland.
Held in conjunction with MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia, the three-day event promises networking possibilities with global exhibitors, complemented by conference sessions.
The ITB Asia Conference, which takes on the theme, "Accelerating Growth: Paving the Way for New Opportunities in Travel & Tourism," emerges as the epicentre of innovative ideas and pivotal networking. Expect a lineup of over 160 speakers delivering more than 4,000 minutes of discourse through a multitude of sessions spanning three days, with conversations concerning the future of MICE, corporate travel, leisure travel, and the ever-evolving landscape of travel technology.
The Knowledge Theatre conference track runs concurrently with the MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia events, facilitating a platform for the dissemination of industry insights at the highest level of professionalism. Within the Travel Tech Asia Hall, the Startup Arena presents an exciting and invaluable opportunity for startup exhibitors to showcase their pioneering innovations. Keynote addresses from industry giants like Hermione Joye, Sector Lead, Travel and Vertical Search APAC at Google, and James Liang, co-founder and Executive Chairman of the Board at Trip.com Group, are among the conference highlights.
