Hulu Selangor to host 3 races in 2023
Hulu Selangor will be playing host to three different physical challenges in 2023, the Hulu Selangor Ultra Trail (HSUT), Hulu Selangor Adventure Challenge (HSAZ) and the Selangor King of the Mountain cycling race (SKOM).
Hulu Selangor Ultra Trail (10 – 11 June 2023)
The Hulu Selangor Ultra Trail, a gruelling trail running event, will take place on June 10th and 11th, 2023. The event promises to offer trail runners an experience like no other, with scenic trails, challenging climbs, and breathtaking views of the Hulu Selangor countryside.
The event will consist of four distances, the 5km, and the 12km, catering to short to middle-distance runners while both 25km and 55km for novice and experienced trail runners. The 5 km race will begin at 7:30 am on June 11th, while the other three categories will start earlier on the same day. The start and end of the race will take place in Taman Tasik Millenium, a public park in the heart of Hulu Selangor.
Participants will navigate through the lush jungle and rugged terrain of Hulu Selangor, facing a mix of steep climbs and technical descents. Along the way, they will pass through several checkpoints, where they can replenish their supplies and receive medical assistance if needed.
The Hulu Selangor Ultra Trail is not just a race; it is a celebration of the spirit of trail running. The organizers have gone to great lengths to ensure that the event is eco-friendly, with a strict leave-no-trace policy in place. The event is also committed to supporting local communities, with a portion of the proceeds going toward various social and environmental causes, for example, jungle trail maintenance and supporting the local aboriginal early educational supplies.
Registration for the Hulu Selangor Ultra Trail is now open. Trail running enthusiasts who want to take on the challenge can visit the event’s website for more information. But the challenge doesn’t end there!
