1.   Cultural Diversity

Selangor is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities, as it brings together people of all states due to its close proximity to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Get to know the ethnic group native to West Malaysia, the Mah Meri tribe, by visiting the Mah Meri Cultural Village in Carey Island, located in the district of Hulu Langat. Immerse yourself in their culture by visiting their Origami Centre or taking part in one of their workshops!

2.   Variety of Food

With diverse cultures come diverse delicacies. Selangor is one of the best food-hunting states, with every dish being full of flavours and spices. Try the Nasi Lemak, Satay, Dim Sum or Nasi Ambeng. We highly recommend the Nasi Ambeng at D’Rebung Restaurant located at Banghuris Homestay in Sepang, Selangor!

3.   Great Attractions

Despite boasting amazing modern architecture as well as astonishing green spaces, Selangor is not only limited to sightseeing. Experience adventure sports at Kuala Kubu Bharu Town, visit the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Gallery or shop at any of Selangor’s famous malls like Sunway Pyramid, 1 Utama Shopping Centre and Mitsui Outlet Park!

4.   Safety First

The state government have implemented strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safety of not only its residents, but also tourists. Only fully vaccinated tourists are allowed to travel into Selangor, so expect to comply with the SOPs in all operations, including masks, physical distancing and half of its maximum capacity.

5.   Tech Savvy

To overcome the impacts of the global pandemic, Selangor is heading towards the digital tourism transformation, allowing tourists to get the best out of their travels. Through Tourism Selangor, the state government extended support for the mobile application ‘Go Selangor’, which is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2022.

6.   Convenient Connectivity

Well known for its advanced connectivity, accessibility, transportation services and communication networks, Selangor is easy to navigate thanks to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service and the free Smart Selangor Bus!
